Production Welding - Production Laser Welding, Production Capacitor Discharge Welding, Production Resistance Welding, Production MIG Welding, Production TIG Welding, Production MAG Welding, Production Plasma WeldingPECo’s Capacitor Discharge Welding is ideal for many hard-to-weld materials including:

  • Alloy steels (even those containing Sulfur and Lead)
  • Powdered metals
  • Dissimilar metals
  • Steels
  • Some High C Cast Irons (welded without creating a brittle weld structure!)
  • Copper
  • Many Others

Common coated materials can also be joined:

  • Zinc
  • Copper Flash
  • Nickel
  • Yellow Dichromate
  • Aluminum
  • Plastic

The Capacitor Discharge welding process (also known as High-Speed Pulse Welding) forms a diffusion or forge-type weld. Rapid metal bonding (approximately 10 ms) causes minimal part heating producing a weld without distortion, discoloration or annealing. This highly controllable, efficient welding process allows the creation of powdered metal component designs not possible with other joining options.

You can count on PECo to deliver high quality welds, backed by the engineering expertise and quick turn around you need in today’s fast paced environment. With over 60 years of production welding experience and 20 years in the design and build of Capacitor Discharge (CD) Welding Systems you can count on us to know our stuff!
